Moale is a 48' Simpson Sailing Catamaran. The name Moale is pronounced MO AH LEE and is from the Papuan Motu Language in Papua New Guinea and means "place of peace, tranquility and happiness".
Tim and Susan Joyce with
their two young daughters Lucy and Elly lived aboard Moale for nearly 5 years.
They were based from Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays, North Queensland,
Australia. In 2003 they cruised
Moale is spacious and very well designed for both live-aboard cruising and day charters and is also perfect for surfing / spearfishing trips, special functions and cocktail / sunset cruises.
She has 2 large queen sized sleeping cabins and 2 smaller double cabins and lots of hatches for excellent airflow. In the main saloon there is also a large built-in settee which has storage under the seats and the table drops down, if required to make up a huge king size bed. Many guests love to sleep on the large nets in the bows of the boat, either under the stars or we have a large tent-like cover in case it rains.
The living area in the main
saloon is like a family lounge room and the stability offered by catamaran
sailing means that we don't spill our drinks while we are sailing. There are two
bathrooms with full headroom and a deck shower.
Moale has a new sound system with speakers that can be positioned out to the trampolines in the bows which can be connected to your IPODS and a TV / DVD player. There is also an 8 person inflatable dinghy ideal for exploring and makes it easy to get to surf breaks and snorkel spots.
